We'll discuss what to plan for that can increase client related activities and generate new business opportunities. Year-End Planning Session 12:00-12:45 P.M. Matthew To - “The Tax Man Cometh ” - Knowledge is the Kevlar vest that will shield your clients from unnecessary tax bills. Join our session on Nov. 18th to learn more about tax-efficient investment strategies.
12:45-1:15 P.M. Rose Nguyen - “ 2021 Year End Planning – Locking in guaranteed values ” - This session will highlight year end planning steps that advisors should consider as they look for opportunities to help clients meet their financial and wealth transfer goals. Whether it is implementing or updating an estate plan, we have two great fact finder tools that can be used to help individual clients and business owners. We will review two case studies showing how advisors can help clients lock in their current market value gains and convert them to guaranteed values that addresses each of the client’s biggest estate planning concerns.
1:15-2:00 P.M. Nicole Watson - “Year-end Tax Planning Capital Gains, Corporations, Issues & Opportunities” - Discussion of where we are with personal and corporate tax rates, recent and potential tax changes and planning opportunities to consider before the end of the calendar year.
2:00-2:30 P.M. John Bromley - “Helping clients with charitable giving, an advisor's guide” - This session will help broaden the application of your financial expertise by providing important context about the range of assets available to donate and your role in donation planning and the ongoing management of charitable assets. We'll also learn about the convenience and flexibility provided to advisors and their clients by using the donor-advised fund as a giving vehicle.

| Rose Nguyen Rose Nguyen is the Senior Business Development Manager of Segregated Funds for BMO Insurance covering Western Canada. Rose has over 20 years of experience working in the insurance and investment industry. Her last 15 years were dedicated to working closely with advisors, specializing in the segregated funds area. Rose is passionate in her work with financial advisors and aims to be a valuable resource by delivering an exceptional standard of service to her business partners. Rose has a BA in Economics from Simon Fraser University and also holds the CFP and CIM designation. On a personal note, Rose is a self-proclaimed foodie, travel enthusiast and a mother of two active children. |

| Nicole Watson, CPA, CA, TEP | Nicole has over 19 years of individual and corporate income tax experience. She advises numerous individuals, small and family businesses, farming enterprise operations, not-for-profit enterprises, and Indigenous persons regarding Canadian income tax matters. Nicole assists numerous clients in implementing tax planning strategies in areas such as estate and succession planning, trusts, compensation of business owners, family business, real estate, purchases and sales of businesses, corporate reorganizations, Indigenous taxation matters and disputes on taxation matters. Nicole is a frequent presenter with respect to tax-related topics, including tax legislation changes and tax planning opportunities. Nicole has completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax program and is a frequent instructor of tax programs with CPA Canada. She is also a designated Trust and Estate Practitioner (“TEP”) as part of the Canadian Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Nicole has also successfully completed the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising the Family Business. The Qualification is subject to the rigorous quality Assurance procedures of Alliance Manchester Business School, a school of the University of Manchester. |

| John Bromley John Bromley grew up with charity at the core of his family’s values. He took his professional background in corporate finance, working with PwC and RBC Capital Markets, and co-founded a charity boutique with his father, one of the world's foremost experts in charity law, and the pioneer of charitable law and gifting in Canada. After developing an in-depth understanding of the complex world underpinning the charity sector and its donors, John went on to launch Charitable Impact, an organization built to help people create the change they want to see in the world, no matter what causes they choose to support, how much they give, or how experienced they are with charitable giving. To date, Charitable Impact has facilitated over $900M in donations from donors ranging in size from $5 to $70M. John has helped shape, structure and negotiate well over $1Billion worth of giving on behalf of people, corporations, and existing foundations. John is also a two time TEDx speaker, Forty Under 40 winner, recovering road bike racer, former ‘90s hip-hop DJ, and proud father of two boys. |
