Whether they're feeling great or struggling with a health condition, insureds and their families benefit from a range of free support services that come with our new insurance products.

Services vary based on the products held.

These assistance services are not a contractual obligation of Desjardins Insurance and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

Health and well‑being platform

The Health and well‑being platform has been available for nearly 3 years but is seldom used by clients, who prefer using the phone for our many assistance services. The platform will therefore be suspended as of June 1, 2021.

We'll contact your clients

We will write to your clients to let them know the service is being suspended. The communication will be available in Clients Documents.

New sheets with contracts

Check out the new sheets your clients will receive with their contracts, depending on what coverage they have:

4 UPDATED QUESTIONNAIRES FOR ANALYZING NEW INSURANCE APPLICATIONS

When we analyze an insurance application, we may ask you to fill out some additional questionnaires to help us make an informed decision.

We've updated the 4 forms below:

• Scuba Diving, Rock Climbing and Mountaineering Questionnaire (10407E))
• Aviation and Sports Flying Questionnaire (10409E)
• Back Pain Questionnaire (10426E)
• Anxiety or Emotional/Stress Disorder Questionnaire (10437E)

If the Pending Business tool says you need to submit any of these forms to us, you must complete the form and return it to us through the Pending Business tool.

If you have paper copies of these forms, please destroy them and use the new versions.

PAYROLL ENDING MAY 20 WILL BE DELAYED

Please note that, due to Victoria Day on Monday, May 24, the payment of your payroll ending May 20 will be one day late.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

REMINDER – TERM INVESTMENTS AND TRANSITION FORMS UPDATED

The Term investments, TFSA term investments and Transition forms have been updated.

The following updates have been made:

• Changes regarding anti-money laundering (AML) requirements:
  • Pieces of identification have been added for identity verification, as well as Expiration date and Verification date fields
  • Question on the “Third Party Determination” in the “Representative Information” section*
• New visual
• The order of sections of the Transition form has been harmonized with that of the Term Investments form

*The Desjardins Financial Security Third party determination (DFS) - 21024E (PDF, 108 KB) form has also been updated.

Printed versions of the Term Investments and TFSA Term Investments forms will arrive at the warehouse at the end of May. Until then, PDF versions are available.

The former versions will be accepted until June 24, 2021.

REMINDER – MAIL DELIVERY IN A PANDEMIC

The mail process was adjusted due to the pandemic and the current situation which recommends that the majority of our employees work from home.

In order to avoid any additional delays to process your requests, we remind you that it is important not to address your documents, especially cheques, to a specific employee.

Rest assured that all mail is promptly taken care of, even if mailed to head office.

As an increasing number of people are being affected by the pandemic, Desjardins is prioritizing the health and financial well-being of everyone.
